Lanka Sathosa has announced a reduction in prices for six essential food items, effective from today. The state-owned corporation aims to make these items more affordable for consumers.
The price cuts are as follows:
- Soya meat: Reduced by Rs. 45, now priced at Rs. 580 per kilogram.
- Local Potatoes: Reduced by Rs. 40, now priced at Rs. 290 per kilogram.
- Thai sprats: Reduced by Rs. 30, now priced at Rs. 1,100 per kilogram.
- Garlic: Reduced by Rs. 30, now priced at Rs. 620 per kilogram.
- Big onions: Reduced by Rs. 15, now priced at Rs. 195 per kilogram.
- Red lentils: Reduced by Rs. 6, now priced at Rs. 299 per kilogram.
This move by Lanka Sathosa aims to provide relief to consumers by offering these essential food items at more affordable prices.
