Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka has been recognized as one of the top 21 "A" Grade Central Bank Governors in the world, according to Global Finance Magazine.
The magazine's annual Central Banker Report Cards assess the performance of central bank governors from 101 countries and territories, including the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States, and the Central Bank of West African States.
The grades are determined based on factors such as inflation control, economic growth objectives, currency stability, and interest rate management, with "A" representing outstanding performance and "F" indicating failure.
Among the governors who received an "A-" grade are Leonardo Villar of Colombia, Hector Valdez Albizu of the Dominican Republic, Asgeir Jonsson of Iceland, Perry Warjiyo of Indonesia, Victoria Rodriguez Ceja of Mexico, Abdellatif Jouahri of Morocco, Ida Wolden Bache of Norway, Lesetja Kganyago of South Africa, and Rhee Changyong of South Korea.
