State Minister of Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has announced that import restrictions on vehicles used for public transport will soon be relaxed. 

Despite the current economic crisis leading to a halt in vehicle imports, the government intends to ease restrictions on selected vehicles utilized for public transportation services and cargo transportation. 

During a media briefing in Ruwanwella, Siyambalapitiya stated that a gazette notification will be issued this week, outlining the relaxation of import restrictions specifically for lorries, trucks, and buses employed in public transport. 

The decision to implement this measure is in line with the ongoing recovery of the country's economy
