Members of the Maha Sangha and supporters demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera continued their protest at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo despite heavy evening rainfall.
The group relocated to the park following court restrictions prohibiting demonstrations directly in front of the Presidential Secretariat.
Representatives who held discussions at the Ministry of Buddhasasana reiterated their decision to remain at Viharamahadevi Park until a clear resolution is reached regarding Gnanasara Thera’s release.
The protesters continued chanting as they vowed to maintain their presence at the park while awaiting a response to their demand.
