Two spill gates of the Rajanganaya Reservoir have been opened due to heavy rainfall prevailing across the island.

Irrigation authorities stated that two of the reservoir’s 30 spill gates are currently open, releasing water into the Kala Oya at a rate of 1,164 cubic feet per second.

Residents living near the Kala Oya and in low-lying areas have been advised to remain vigilant as water levels may rise.
