A group of Buddhist monks and other supporters participating in the “Justice for the Robe – Freedom March”, launched under the leadership of the Maha Sangha to demand the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, are still gathered on the road outside the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The group arrived near the Presidential Secretariat yesterday afternoon and stressed that the government must provide a clear response regarding the demand for Gnanasara Thera’s release.
The protesters continue to remain at the site, urging the authorities to take a definite decision on the matter.
An official at the Presidential Secretariat has informed the Maha Sangha participating in the “Nidhase Paada Yaathra” that a decision on their demand for the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera would be made within one month.
