Water levels in the Kalu Ganga have risen in the Kalawellawa area following heavy rainfall in the river’s upper catchment areas.
The Department of Irrigation stated that the water level at the Millakanda gauging station had exceeded five metres as of this morning (12).
Accordingly, people living in low-lying areas along the Kalu Ganga have been urged to remain vigilant amid the rising water levels.
