A large number of protesters have joined a demonstration organised by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, despite heavy rain in Battaramulla since morning.
The entrance to Parliament from Polduwa Junction has been completely blocked due to the protest.
The protest began around 9.30 a.m. today (24) at Polduwa Junction in Battaramulla.
