Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa joined the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s (SLPP) “Jana Satana” public rally in Anuradhapura today (12), as the party intensified its political campaign against the government.
The rally is being held at the Anuradhapura Municipal Council Grounds, drawing a large gathering of SLPP supporters, party activists and political figures.
Former Ministers Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila and Tiran Alles, as well as Parliamentarian Ramanathan Archchuna, were among those who joined the rally.
The SLPP said the rally was organised to protest the government’s alleged failure to address the concerns of farmers and the wider public, while also raising objections to its economic policies.
