Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has achieved career-best positions in all three categories of the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings following her impressive performance against the United Arab Emirates in the Asia Cup.
The 36-year-old all-rounder played a key role in Sri Lanka’s nine-wicket victory in Dubai, taking one wicket before scoring an unbeaten 48 to help her team begin their title defence in convincing fashion.
Athapaththu has moved up to sixth among T20I batters, 33rd among bowlers and third among all-rounders, marking her highest-ever ranking positions in all three categories.
Her latest achievement follows a strong campaign at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup earlier this year, where she scored 172 runs and claimed three wickets.
Several other Sri Lankan players also improved their rankings. Imesha Dulani climbed four places to 18th among T20I batters, while Harshita Samarawickrama moved up one place to 23rd.
Spinner Sugandika Kumari also made significant progress, rising five places to 23rd in the T20I bowling rankings.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh pacer Marufa Akter moved up two places to 37th among T20I bowlers after taking two wickets against Indonesia.
