The Ministry of Defence has announced that the renewal process for firearm licences for the year 2027 will commence today (01).
According to the Ministry, licence holders will have until December 31, 2026, to renew their firearm licences, giving eligible licence holders a four-month period to complete the required formalities.
The Ministry warned that possessing a firearm without a valid renewed licence constitutes an offence under Section 22 of the Firearms Ordinance.
Legal action and penalties may be imposed on individuals found in possession of firearms without the required valid licence, the Ministry said.
