Chinese rChinese smart device manufacturer Honor is making final preparations for its high-performance humanoid robot, Flash, as it heads to the Second World Humanoid Robot Games held in Beijing from August 22 to 26. obot trains to break Usain Bolt's 100m world record

The event, hosted at the National Speed Skating Oval, features thousands of global competitors and serves as a premier showcase for advancements in bipedal robotics and embodied artificial intelligence.

Flash previously captured international attention in April by smashing the human half-marathon world record, completing a 21-kilometer distance in an impressive 50 minutes and 26 seconds. Building on this monumental athletic achievement, the engineering team has modified the robot's hardware by extending its legs by 10 centimeters to achieve a longer stride and higher running velocity, alongside utilizing lighter, highly reliable materials.

With these structural enhancements and rigorous training sessions monitoring sprint reaction times, Honor's development team has set its sights on a historic ultimate milestone. Their core objective is to push the bipedal machine to eventually break Usain Bolt's legendary human 100-meter world record of 9.58 seconds.
