The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water supply to the Wellawatte and Pamankada areas will be suspended for seven hours from 10.00 p.m. tonight.
According to the NWSDB, the temporary water cut is necessary to facilitate essential improvement works under the Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Project Enhancement Programme.
The interruption is scheduled to continue until 5.00 a.m. tomorrow, after which the water supply is expected to be restored.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to store an adequate supply of water in advance and use it sparingly during the period of the suspension.
The NWSDB regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation while the improvement works are carried out.
