The Sri Lanka Navy has safely rescued all 11 Indian fishermen who were aboard a fishing vessel that met with an accident off the coast of Delft Island in Sri Lankan waters.
The incident occurred on the night of August 5. Following reports of the accident, the Navy immediately launched a search and rescue operation.
After an extensive rescue mission, all 11 fishermen were brought safely to Delft Island on August 6. According to the Sri Lanka Navy, the fishermen were subsequently taken ashore unharmed, and the necessary follow-up procedures are currently being carried out.
Meanwhile, the damaged Indian fishing vessel, which drifted ashore due to strong waves, is being towed to the Myliddy Fisheries Harbour by the Sri Lanka Navy for further action.
