Lanka Metro Transit has announced the introduction of seven new Metro Bus routes across the Colombo Metropolitan Area, aimed at improving connectivity between key cities, suburbs, and major commercial centres while enhancing Sri Lanka's urban public transport network.
The newly launched routes are designed to provide more convenient and efficient travel options for daily commuters.
The new Metro Bus routes are:
- CM01 – Makumbura ↔ Colombo Fort (via Pettah)
- CM02 – Millennium City ↔ Colombo Fort
- CM03 – Kadawatha ↔ Makumbura
- CM04 – Dematagoda ↔ Panadura
- CM05 – Battaramulla ↔ Ekala
- CM06 – Kollupitiya Circular Route
- CM08 – Kesbewa ↔ Pettah
