The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water supply to several areas will be temporarily suspended on Tuesday, August 4, to facilitate essential maintenance work at the Kandana Water Treatment Plant.

According to the NWSDB, the scheduled interruptions will affect Moratuwa, Panadura, Bandaragama, Horana, Kumbuka, Ingiriya, and Piliyandala, with outage durations varying by area.

The planned water supply interruptions are as follows:

Moratuwa: 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. (5 hours)

Panadura: 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. (5 hours)

Bandaragama: 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. (12 hours)

Horana: 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (5 hours)

Kumbuka: 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (5 hours)

Ingiriya: 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (5 hours)

Piliyandala: 4.00 p.m. on August 4 to 8.00 a.m. on August 5 (16 hours)

The NWSDB advises residents in the affected areas to store an adequate supply of water in advance and use it sparingly during the interruption period. Water supply is expected to resume gradually once the maintenance work has been completed.
