Heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Several spells of showers will occur in Western, North-Western and North-central provinces.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Mullaitivu district after 2.00 p.m.

Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over North-central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Colombo, Galle, Hambantota and Batticaloa.

Winds:

Winds will be south-westerly. Wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. 

Wind speed can increase up to (60-70) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

 Wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo.

State of Sea:

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough or very rough at times. Naval and fishing communities are advised not to venture into these sea areas, until further notice.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo will be rough at times.

The wave height may increase about (2.5 – 3.0) meters in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
