Sri Lanka has been recognised as one of the world’s fastest-improving countries in debt transparency and investor relations, according to the 2026 Investor Relations and Debt Transparency Report released by the Institute of International Finance (IIF).

The report ranks Sri Lanka fourth among the fastest-improving countries globally, highlighting the country’s notable progress in strengthening debt transparency and enhancing engagement with investors.

Vietnam secured the top position in the rankings, followed by Belize in second place and Mozambique in third.

The IIF noted that Sri Lanka has made significant advancements in improving debt transparency and investor relations, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen fiscal governance and build investor confidence as the country continues its economic recovery.

The recognition is expected to bolster Sri Lanka’s reputation in international financial markets and support its efforts to attract foreign investment and maintain constructive engagement with global creditors.
