The Court of Appeal has scheduled for tomorrow (28 July) the further hearing of a writ petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, Major General Suresh Salley.
The petition challenges his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The decision was made after the Court of Appeal considered the petition today (27 July).
During the proceedings, Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, appearing on behalf of the respondents, including Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara, presented extensive submissions before the court.
Following those submissions, the Court of Appeal ordered that the matter be called again tomorrow for further proceedings.
