The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water supply will be suspended for four hours today (July 22) due to essential maintenance work at the Kandy Main Water Supply Project.
The interruption will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., affecting consumers in the Rajapihilla, Medawala (Old), Medawala (New), Galagedara service centres, as well as the Mawatagama service area.
The affected areas are:
Rajapihilla Service Area: Uduwawala, Polwatta Road, Glewatta, Wasgewatta, Uda Bokawala, Palle Bokawala, Pihangewatta, Ahasliyadda, Kotuwewatta, Nagahamula Road, Thawalankoda, Balagolla, Hapugoda, Pattiyawatta, Rajapihilla, Moragahawela, Attaragama, Ulladupitiya Road, Pohorabethenna Road and Attaragama Dekinda Road.
Medawala (Old) Service Area: Kavumkohe Road, Gonigoda, Jayanthi Road, Gurukate, Palkumbura, Idamegama, Ambegama, Gorokgasanga Road, Elamalpata, Kotutenna, Pethiyagodawatta, Kaluwana, Bothota, Harankahatanna, Dodantenna, Kumburegeder, Dembaralowa, Thibbuta and Thalapellagodda Road.
Medawala (New) Service Area: Batugoda, Ahalagasinna, Diddeniya, Ovissa, Watagoda, Dobagammana, Hedeniya, Suriyakumbura, Ambaruppa, Harankahawa, Bokkawala, Walathenna and Pathirada.
Galagedara Service Area: Galagedara, Wewabada, areas around Boyagoda, Rambukkana Road, Poholiyadda Road and Kurunegala Road.
Mawatagama Service Area: Mawatagama, Barandana Road and surrounding areas.
The NWSDB has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and apologized for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption.
