Proceedings will begin with parliamentary business under Standing Order 22 (Items 1–6) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., time has been allocated for Questions for Oral Answers, followed by Questions under Standing Order 27(2) from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Parliament will debate two motions for approval under Standing Orders 119 and 120.
The first motion seeks Parliament's approval to refer to the Attorney General the observations and further action arising from the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) report on the permit scheme that allowed Sri Lankans employed overseas to import fully electric vehicles through foreign remittances. The report relates to the COPA inquiry conducted on October 24, 2025, into the scheme that was implemented from May 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023.
The second motion concerns a decision to refer matters identified in reports tabled by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for appropriate action under Standing Order 120. These reports relate to investigations carried out during COPE committee meetings.
Both motions are listed as Items 87 and 88 in Parliament's Order Paper No. 164, dated July 10, 2026.
Following this, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Parliament is scheduled to debate an Adjournment Motion to be moved by the Chair of the Committee on Public Petitions, focusing on the work and performance of the committee in the Tenth Parliament.
