The Sri Lanka Police have launched a dedicated website to assist with traffic control and parking management during the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Esala Perahera.
According to Police, the online platform has been introduced to help devotees travelling to Kataragama for religious observances and to witness the annual Esala Perahera conveniently locate designated parking areas within the Kataragama town limits until July 30.
The website provides real-time updates on the availability of parking spaces at each designated location, enabling motorists to plan their arrival and reduce time spent searching for parking.
Police stated that the initiative is aimed at easing traffic congestion in Kataragama during the festival period while minimizing inconvenience to the large number of devotees and visitors expected to attend the event.
