Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya called on young women and girls to take on leadership roles and help build a stronger future for Sri Lanka while addressing the President's Guide Award and Prime Minister's Award Ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association at Temple Trees on 19 July.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of creating equal opportunities for every young woman and girl to grow, succeed, and achieve their full potential.
"Every young woman and every girl should have equal opportunities to move forward, grow, and achieve their full potential. We need young women leaders like you to step forward and help build a better country than the one we have today," she said.
The ceremony recognized the achievements of outstanding Girl Guides from across the country, with the President's Guide Award and the Prime Minister's Award presented to participants who demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and service. The Prime Minister also praised the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association for its role in empowering young women and nurturing future leaders.
