A suspect has been arrested in the Dikpitigoda area within the Kiribathgoda Police Division, found in possession of a large stockpile of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), heroin, and narcotic pills.

Officers from the Colombo District Crimes Division carried out the raid and subsequent arrest yesterday (July 18). During the operation, authorities recovered 6.096 kg of Ice, 2.070 kg of heroin, and 5,000 narcotic pills from the suspect. The arrested individual has been identified as a 31-year-old resident of Dikpitigoda.

In a separate operation conducted yesterday, the Homicide and Organized Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested another suspect in possession of a massive haul of Ice. Police have already uncovered several crucial details regarding this operation.

Authorities seized 18.716 kg of Ice along with an electronic weighing scale from the suspect, identified as a 26-year-old resident of Alubomulla, Panadura.

During interrogations, the suspect revealed that the narcotics were brought in for nationwide distribution and trafficking, operating under the directives of two known organized criminals. The police stated that the suspect will be produced before the Panadura Magistrate's Court today (July 19) to secure a 7-day detention order for further investigations.
