One person was hospitalized after police opened fire on two individuals during an attempt to inspect them in the Piliyandala area on Sunday morning.
According to the Piliyandala Police, the incident occurred along Weerasinghe Mawatha when a police patrol moved to stop and inspect two individuals deemed suspicious. During the operation, officers discharged their firearms, resulting in one of the suspects sustaining injuries.
The injured individual was admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, also known as Kalubowila Hospital, for treatment.
