House of Fashions owner and Managing Director Preethi Jayawardena has been arrested over an alleged Customs violation and remanded while receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Colombo after developing a heart-related medical condition.
Jayawardena was arrested at his residence by Sri Lanka Customs officers conducting a special investigation into an alleged customs valuation issue.
Sri Lanka Customs Spokesman Chandana Punchihewa told the *Daily Mirror* that Jayawardena developed a heart-related medical condition while in Customs custody and was subsequently admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo for treatment.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate later visited the hospital, observed the suspect, and ordered that he be remanded while receiving medical care.
