Sanjeewa Rodrigo has been officially appointed as a member of the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council to fill the vacant seat representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
The appointment has been confirmed through a Gazette notification issued by the relevant authorities.
The vacancy arose following the resignation of former Municipal Councillor Fahim Mohamed Abdullah.
Following the resignation, the General Secretary of the SJB nominated Sanjeewa Rodrigo to fill the vacant position and informed the relevant election authorities.
In accordance with Section 66(1) of the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance, Returning Officer for the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council, Piumi Athigala, officially declared Sanjeewa Rodrigo elected to the Municipal Council to fill the vacancy.
