The rest of the country is expected to experience mainly dry weather.
Meanwhile, strong winds of 40–50 km/h are forecast at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and in the Monaragala, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts.
Sea Areas
For the sea areas around the island, a few showers are expected off the coast from Negombo to Galle via Colombo.
South-westerly winds will prevail, with speeds of 40–50 km/h, increasing up to 50–60 km/h at times in the sea areas from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota. Elsewhere around the island, winds will range between 30–40 km/h, occasionally strengthening up to 50 km/h.
Sea conditions will be rough at times off the coasts extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota. Other sea areas are expected to be fairly rough.
Wave heights of 2.0 to 2.5 metres are likely in the sea areas from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota.
The public, particularly fishermen and those engaged in maritime activities, are advised to exercise caution due to the strong winds, rough seas, and elevated wave conditions.
