The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory warning of strong winds affecting several parts of the country due to active south-west monsoon conditions.

The advisory will remain valid until 11.00 AM tomorrow (14).

According to the Department, wind speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are expected at times in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Central and North Western provinces, as well as in the Monaragala, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts.

The public has been advised to remain alert to possible weather-related impacts and to follow the latest updates and advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology.
