Among those summoned is Deputy Manager of the Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant in Norochcholai, A.B.M. Thushan Abeykoon, who had previously appeared before the commission on Wednesday (8) to provide evidence.
To date, the commission has recorded evidence from four officials, including Secretary to the Ministry of Energy G.M.R.D. Aponso, an Additional Secretary to the Ministry, Registrar of Companies Shyama Harshani, and Deputy Manager Abeykoon during his earlier appearance.
Representing the Attorney General's Department before the three-member Presidential Commission are Deputy Solicitor General Ganga Wakishta Arachchi and Deputy Solicitor General Angelo Van Hout.
The commission has commenced examining officials based on affidavits they had previously submitted in relation to the investigation into coal procurement transactions.
Secretary to the Presidential Commission, D.V. Bandulasena, said the evidence-recording process is expected to continue over the coming weeks as the inquiry progresses.
