The third meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee established to oversee the development of 25 Technical and Vocational Colleges under the Department of Technical Education and Training was held today (09) at the Parliament Complex under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The meeting focused on plans to expand educational opportunities in the vocational education sector, implement infrastructure development initiatives, and promote new pathways for technical and vocational education. Members also held detailed discussions on the proposed development of the 25 institutions as part of broader efforts to strengthen the country’s vocational education system.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation and Energy Anura Karunatilaka, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha, Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Dr. Upali Pannilage, along with senior officials from the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.
