A discussion between representatives of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was held today (08) at the Parliament premises.
During the meeting, OPA representatives stated that they are planning to establish a mechanism to provide direct professional advice to the public on issues faced across various sectors. They further highlighted plans to introduce special programmes to provide pre-advice and guidance through relevant professional associations to people seeking assistance in areas such as agriculture, construction, medicine, and legal services.
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya appreciated the contribution made by professionals towards strengthening professional standards and supporting national development. She also stated that the government is prepared to extend its support to initiatives aimed at enhancing professionalism and strengthening national service in the country.
The meeting was attended by the President, Vice President, and officials of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka.
