The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory warning of strong winds expected to affect several parts of the country.
The advisory will remain valid until 11.00 AM tomorrow (06).
According to the Department, wind speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are expected at times in the Central, Northern and North Central Provinces, as well as in the Ratnapura, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, due to intensified south-west monsoon conditions.
The public has been urged to exercise caution and stay updated with the latest weather advisories and warnings issued by the Department of Meteorology.
