The total number of dengue infections reported across Sri Lanka this year has climbed to 59,638, according to the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).
Health authorities said June recorded the highest monthly caseload of the year, with 21,546 cases confirmed.
The upward trend has continued into July, with 4,251 infections reported during the first four days of the month alone.
The Western Province remains the worst-affected region, accounting for 31,249 cases reported so far this year.
The Southern Province has recorded 9,507 cases, while 5,172 infections have been reported from the Sabaragamuwa Province, making them the second and third highest-affected provinces, respectively.
