The position of Director General had remained vacant. Accordingly, Mr. Wijemannage, who has been serving as the Additional Director General of the Department of Meteorology, has been appointed to the post.
Mr. Wijemannage is the most senior Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Scientific Service currently serving in the Department of Meteorology. His appointment takes effect immediately.
