His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith took part in the second Extraordinary Consistory convened by Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on June 26 and 27.

The gathering, which serves as a consultative meeting of the College of Cardinals, began with a Papal Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by discussions with the Holy Father at the Paul VI Hall.

Over the course of four working sessions, cardinals reviewed key issues affecting the Catholic Church and the global community, including initiatives to promote peace, the implementation of the Synod, and the papal encyclical Magnifica Humanitas.

During the discussions, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith contributed his pastoral insights and shared his experience on the topics under consideration with Pope Leo XIV and fellow cardinals.

A total of 178 cardinals from across the world attended the Extraordinary Consistory, which concluded on June 29 with the Papal Mass marking the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.
