According to the advisory, these coastal sea areas are expected to be rough at times, with strong gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h.

The Department also warned that wave heights could increase to 2.0–3.0 metres in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota, creating hazardous conditions for marine activities.

The Department of Meteorology has urged the naval and fishing communities to exercise extreme caution and closely monitor future weather forecasts and advisories before venturing into the sea.

Authorities advise those engaged in fishing and other marine operations to remain vigilant until sea conditions improve.
