The inquiry was called today (June 5) before Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena.
During the proceedings, testimonies were recorded from President's Counsel Rienzie Arsecularatne and his junior counsel Udara Muhandiramge. Both lawyers had previously represented the late Kapila Chandrasena in a case filed against him by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (Bribery Commission).
Following their statements, the court also recorded testimony from the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Kollupitiya Police Department.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate subsequently adjourned the hearing, scheduling the examination of further evidence for June 9.
