According to the DMC, the highest rainfall of 118.80 mm was recorded in the Thelissagala, Hunugal Oya area of the Kotmale Divisional Secretariat Division in Nuwara Eliya District.
Several other areas also experienced significant rainfall during the same period. These include:
Watawala, Nuwara Eliya – 82 mm
Kegalle – 70 mm
Eratna, Ratnapura – 62 mm
Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions as heavy rainfall affects several parts of the country. Residents in vulnerable areas are advised to remain alert and follow instructions issued by local authorities and disaster management officials.
