The programme will be held at the car park near the Central Bus Stand in Trincomalee from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on both days. It will be attended by CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and other senior officials of the central bank.
According to CBSL, the initiative aims to educate government officials, members of the business community, and the general public on the benefits, safety, and convenience of digital payment solutions.
The event will bring together banks, non-bank financial institutions, and other stakeholders to showcase a range of digital financial services and payment technologies.
The programme forms part of CBSL’s nationwide campaign titled “Shaping the Future Through Digital Payments,” which is being implemented in collaboration with financial institutions and industry partners to promote a more inclusive and digitally empowered financial ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
CBSL stated that the campaign seeks to accelerate the adoption of digital payment platforms and strengthen public confidence in cashless transactions as the country advances towards a more digitally connected economy
