The Kotte Road railway crossing, located between the Baseline Road and Narahenpita railway stations, will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9:30 a.m. on June 6 until 7:30 a.m. on June 7.
During this period, train services between Colombo Fort and Narahenpita railway stations will be suspended to facilitate the urgent maintenance work.
The Department further stated that the Kotte Road railway crossing will remain completely closed to vehicles throughout the repair operation, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made to operate three slow trains from Narahenpita Railway Station to Avissawella Railway Station on the evening of June 6 to minimize inconvenience to commuters.
Railway authorities have requested the public to cooperate with the temporary traffic and service disruptions while the essential upgrades are carried out.
