Dr. Rajapaksha had remained at the Badulla General Hospital for nearly 11 years without being transferred.
When the case was previously taken up on May 4, counsel for the petitioner informed court that after receiving the transfer letter on May 1, the doctor had reported for duty at the Badulla Regional Director of Health Services Office on May 2.
After considering submissions from both parties, the Court had postponed the matter until today (12).
When the case was called again today, the petitioners decided not to proceed with the legal action and formally withdrew the petition.
The GMOA had also been represented on the Ministry of Health’s transfer board related to the matter.
