The 15-member committee was appointed by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education under the direction of the subject minister.
The panel comprises senior academics, healthcare administrators and policy experts from leading higher education institutions and state bodies.
Among the members are Professor Gominda Ponnamperuma of the University Grants Commission’s Standing Committee on Quality Assurance, Professor R. Surenthirakumaran, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jaffna, and Professor M. Umakant of the University of the East.
The committee also includes representatives from the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, medical faculty teachers’ associations and student representatives.
