Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath also held talks with Marc-Andre Franche to expedite the deployment of Sri Lankan peacekeepers to the Caribbean nation.
Sri Lanka previously concluded its involvement with the United Nations Stabilisation Mission in Haiti in 2015, after nearly 11 years of service.
During that period, more than 16,000 Sri Lankan military personnel were deployed in Haiti between 2004 and 2015. Six soldiers lost their lives, while 18 others were injured during the mission.
