The directive is linked to an investigation launched in 2015 concerning Rajapaksa’s assets and liabilities, as well as those of his family, covering the period from 2010 to 2015.
In its letter, the Commission noted that the investigation has been delayed for a considerable time and emphasized that no further extensions will be granted beyond the April 10 deadline.
Meanwhile, the CIABOC has also issued notices on Thursday (April 3) to several prominent politicians, requiring them to submit their asset declarations within 12 days.
These notices have been issued under the powers granted by the Anti-Corruption Act. The Commission warned that legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply within the specified timeframe.
According to the Commission, the requested information is related to several ongoing investigations.
