The late Mahanayake Thero, who served as the Chief Prelate of the Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha of Bhumiriya Kotte, is remembered for his immense contribution to Buddhism and society. The commemorative event also coincided with the 12th anniversary of his passing.
The religious ceremony was organized to honor his legacy and to reflect on his dedicated service to the Buddha Sasana and the community. A large number of devotees and contributors participated in the almsgiving, offering their support and engaging in religious observances.
Merit transfer activities were also conducted in accordance with Buddhist traditions, invoking blessings in remembrance of the late Thero. Organizers expressed their intention to continue such acts of merit in the future to uphold and celebrate his enduring legacy.
