The arrest follows several videos circulating online showing the vehicle being driven dangerously on public roads, posing a risk to both motorists and pedestrians.
Using the footage and additional information, officers traced and located the SUV, identifying the suspect as a resident of Pannipitiya.
Police confirmed that the driver did not possess a valid license and said strict legal action is being taken for operating a vehicle unlawfully and in a hazardous manner.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before court today (27), with further investigations being carried out by the Piliyandala Police.
