According to building material dealers, the sudden price revision comes amidst the ongoing economic pressures and market instability. With this latest hike, a bag of cement is now retailing at a price of Rs. 2,250 in the open market.
Dealers have expressed concern that the rising costs are not limited to cement. It was reported that the prices of several other essential construction materials, including sand and crushed stone (metal), have also seen significant increases in recent weeks.
