Officials said this is the first time a local government institution in the country has provided such a large financial contribution for the development of a government hospital.
The funds are expected to be used for improving facilities, infrastructure and services at the Mannar Hospital in order to enhance healthcare for residents in the area.
Local authorities stated that the allocation was made considering the urgent need to upgrade the hospital and to provide better medical services to the public.
