CMC officials said the decision was made in response to ongoing fuel supply disruptions in the country, linked to the conflict in the Middle East. The council’s Financial Committee approved the measure to ease difficulties faced by the public during the current global crisis.
“Parking fees are normally collected from vehicles entering and parking within Colombo City. However, due to the challenges caused by the fuel shortage, the Financial Committee has decided to suspend the collection temporarily,” officials added.
